  • 400gm White Rice, boiled
  • 2 tbsp Garlic, chopped
  • 2 tbsp Ginger, chopped
  • 6-8 Curry Leaves
  • 1 tbsp Haldi (Turmeric) Powder
  • 1 tsp Red Chilly Powder
  • 2 tbsp Channa Dal
  • 2 tbsp Urad Dal
  • 2 tbsp fresh Lemon Juice
  • 3 tbsp Refined Oil
  • 4 tbsp unsalted Peanuts
  • 3-4 Dry whole Red Chiles
  • Salt to taste
  • 1.5 tsp Mustard Seeds


  1. Heat the Oil, crackle the mustard and pop the channa dal, urad dal and the peanuts.
  2. Once they are a little more than golden brown add the chopped ginger and garlic, haldi, laal mirch powder, whole red chilies and the curry leaves, then saute for 2 minutes.
  3. Add the rice and the salt
  4. Sprinkle the lemon juice and let it cook for 3-4 minutes
  5. The Twisted Lemon Rice is eat!
