How to make Brown Rice Pilaf

Due to ever increasing health awareness and diet conscious people, brown rice is becoming popular, due to higher nutritive value. High on roughage, it contains nutrition which are lost during the milling process. Best Foods Limited share this recipe of Brown Rice Pilaf, filling and healthy.


  • 1 medium onion, chopped
  • 1 medium green pepper,
  • 1 tablespoon olive
  • 1/4 cups long grain brown rice,
  • 2 garlic cloves,
  • 1/2 teaspoon dried
  • 1/4 teaspoon black pepper


  1. In large saucepan, saute onion and green pepper in oil until tender
  2. Add cooked Brown rice and garlic; cook and stir for 3-4 minutes or until rice is lightly browned.

  3. Add the thyme and pepper
  4. Reduce heat; cover and simmer for 5-10 minutes
  5. Fluff with fork
