Keya Instant Hot & Sour Chicken Cup-a-Soup

Convenient, but without flavor or substance. Avoid.

I love winters and the minute it begins dawning into my life, I start chugging instant/packet soups, mug after large mug like they’re going out of fashion.

As with nearly every other brand on the market that claims ‘No added MSG’, you can be sure it contains some form or the other of hydrolyzed vegetable protein which in turn usually contains some form or the other of free glutamates, probably a sibling or first cousin of MSG. I mention this in the best interests of full disclosure on the part of product companies. I have no issues with MSG and personally think it’s all a big fuss about nothing substantial.

The soup contains chewy, inedible bits of chicken, floating in a brown broth that gave me no reason to purchase it again, apart from pour-hot-water-wait-a-bit-and-serve-it convenience. Given a choice, I suggest not purchasing this soup.
