Highway Goodies at Singh Sahib’s Dhaba!

[dropcap]W[/dropcap]inters are approaching an end and if you’re craving some spicy highway food, we wouldn’t blame you. All you have to do is head over to Singh Sahib at the Eros Hotel, Nehru Place and hog from their very interesting buffet. Chef Suprabhat and his team do appear to have put in a bit of thought and the end result is a delightful smorgasbord of familiar elements that most of us crave every so often. Why, there were three types of dal in there – dal fry, dal makhani and dal panchmel in addition to kadhi pakodas and a most delicious tawa soya. Hard-working chefs behind the counters churn out mouth watering tandoori treats like fish tikka, chicken tikka and mutton seekh kebabs while you watch and the talented man behind the sweetmeats counter dishes out hot, crisp and juicy jalebis in addition to steaming and creamy milk from a large vat, kheer, rasgullas and many other traditional north Indian desserts.
Dhaba food promotion has turned into a ritual for us here at Singh Sahib. We have been hosting this food promotion every year and now our guests and team look forward to it.  Choliya Chicken, Soya Chaap and Dhaba Mutton are some of the most favourite items. – Umesh Dalal, Food & Beverage Manager.
Apart from all of the above, I found a dish I’d never tasted before – chicken with choliyaan! This was a normal-ish chicken curry, with those delicious little green chickpeas thrown in at the last moment, delivering a crunch, bite and flavour that you’ll be hard-pressed to find elsewhere. I’m very sure you’ll find other goodies in the daily-changing menu and are going to have a brilliant meal with the family!
